About the tower

Torre Cant Font

This beautiful tower has a Mediterranean atmosphere, palms, cacti, and an amazing seaside view. It was built in 1630 to protect the Ibicencos from pirates attacking and robbing the Balearic. You can find around 14 of these towers around the island, and they’re all visually connected. Torre Ibiza now provides a wonderful and calm experience for visitors of Ibiza.

Surroundings

The Tower

Next to the tower you will find a large terrace (60 sqm) with hammocks, sofas, a swing, and a Weber gas barbecue. It is the perfect spot for a relaxing siesta with a view over the sea and Cap des Falco.

The Swimming Pool

The west side of the tower features a swimming pool. It is sheltered by trees, and overlooks the sea and the old town of Ibiza.

From the tower you can see the old town of Formentera, the salt flats, and the hills of Cap des Falco, beautifully colored during sunsets.

The Vegetable Garden

Guests can pick fresh vegetables and herbs like tomatoes, lettuce, and mint in the vegetable garden. Next to the garden is a chef's table with enough room for ten people.

David is the gardener and is available for questions and problems.

About

The Owners

Jaap: In 1987 I visited Ibiza for the first time. I stayed there for 3 months to work in the Pascha as a photographer. 10 years later, when I was visiting a Swiss contact, I saw a picture of an old tower on his desk. He appeared to have inherited this beautiful tower from his father, but was not really using it. The building had been vacant for 10 years.

In 1997 I was able to buy this unique building from the Swiss family, who had bought it in 1952 from an Ibicenco Granja (farmer). Since 1997, much has been restored, all in traditional Ibicenco style so as to preserve the original atmosphere of Torre Cant Font from 1630. You can even find the tower on old maps of Ibiza.

Hans has been co-owner of this beautiful place since 2013, and has been in Ibiza since the nineties. You can occasionally find Hans and Jaap at sea, together with their families, spotting dolphins, sharks, and moon fish. If the weather is good and one of them is staying over in the little cottage next to the tower, they’ll gladly take you on a trip with their rib boat.
